London is one of Emily's all-time favorite places.
Since mid-October, Emily Stellick has been volunteering for Beyond Borders for at least 10 hours a week. Hailing from Horicon, Wisconsin, she is the youngest of 4 and is part of a large extended family, as her mother is also 1 of 4 children and her father 1 of 9! An avid reader of all things fantasy and adventure, Emily also loves strolling around DC and can never resist her constant urge to travel. “My favorite place I’ve ever visited is a three-way tie between London, Paris and Barcelona, and Dublin and all of Ireland is next on my list,” Emily says. While in college, Emily took a class called Global Social Problems, which strengthened her interest in international affairs and the non-profit world. Having worked with kids in the past, she is particularly drawn to the movement to end child slavery in Haiti, though she also finds Beyond Borders’ work around sustainable livelihoods compelling. Emily has brought tremendous talent to the Beyond Borders DC team by helping us strengthen our relationships with supporters, install our partners’ artwork at cafes all over the city, and stay afloat with administrative tasks. Since beginning this experience, Emily has eagerly added Haiti to her list of must-see destinations. Join us in saying a huge THANK YOU to Emily and her vital volunteer work!
